Dodson Boatyard's roots date back to the early 1900s, when the property served as a ferry pier connecting Stonington and Watch Hill. In 1959, John Dodson established the boatyard that bears his name.
Acquired by the Snyder family in 1980, Dodson has since grown in expertise and capabilities while preserving its independent spirit. Today, under Robert Snyder Jr.'s leadership, the yard continues its legacy of exceptional craftsmanship, personalized service, and lasting relationships.
Located at Dodson Boatyard, Dog Watch Café is a longstanding favorite of the Stonington community. Recognized among OpenTable's 100 Best Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in America, the café is known for its fresh coastal fare, relaxed atmosphere, and sweeping views of Stonington Harbor.
